Challenge Events

Sponsored charity events are a fantastic way to support St. Joseph's Hospice while pushing yourself to your limits for an exhilarating, rewarding, and maybe a once in a lifetime experience. 

Whether you are a fitness fanatic, an adrenaline junkie, have a New Year's resolution or a bucket list to complete, there's sure to be an event that's right for you!

There are sponsored runs, cycles and swims, tandem skydives and abseiling, dragon boat racing and overseas treks. Take a look at the links below and if there's something you like the look of - or something you'd like to see added - let us know!

  • Mersey Tunnel 10k

    Sunday 14th April 2019

    The Mersey Tunnel 10k is one of the many events on Liverpool’s ever-expanding running calendar - and the one with the most unusual route.
    Founded in 2005, the race see’s over 3000 runners lacing up their trainers in search of their Mersey Tunnel 10k medal.

  • Rock N Roll Marathon

     Sat 25th & Sunday 26th May 2019

    Race through the city where Rock laid its Roots! Walk or run in the steps of the Beatles, and let the beat go on as you discover Liverpool’s rock/ pop history along your marathon or half marathon journey.

  • Nightrider

     Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th July 2019

    Nightrider is back again in Liverpool, with a fantastic route linking The Wirral and Liverpool city centre. The route offers some great cycling and beautiful views across the city.
    The route is made up of two loops. The Wirral loop is around 55km and the Liverpool loop is 45km, giving a 100km total ride. You can choose to ride either of the 50km routes, or do both of them to make a 100km night ride!

  • Tough Mudder

    Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th September 2019 

    Tough Mudder Classic is 8-10 miles of mud-soaked mayhem absolutely loaded with 25 best-in-class obstacles and 10 new or updated obstacles on Every. Single. Course. The 2019 course is set to be bigger and better than ever!

    When you are done conquering the course, waiting for you in the village will be an all-new take on the Mudder Village After Party with more entertainment, street food, craft beer and good times.

  • Scouse 5k

    Sunday 27th October 2019

    Jog, walk or peg it around our amazing Liverpool city centre route. Expect lots of bands, lots of colour and lots of fun.

  • Inflatable 5k

    Saturday 30th November 2019 

    The UK’s best Inflatable obstacle course has got even bigger, bouncier and more incredible.
    We now have 15 Gigantic obstacles, making this the biggest Inflatable 5k obstacle event ever created. Tackle the exciting brand new Obstacles in 2019! Complete the Inflatable 5k and get an awesome medal, neck buff & pair of socks!

  • Santa Dash

    Sunday 1st December 2019

    The Liverpool Santa Dash course starts and finishes in Liverpool city centre with a 5K route beginning at the Pier Head on Canada Boulevard in front of the Liver Buildings. It finishes in front of the Town Hall at Castle Street. Sign up fee includes a Santa suit and commemorative finishers’ medal.

  • Big Fun Run

    Big Fun Run is a 5k untimed run. Big Fun Run series is strictly for FUN where it’s all about relaxed exercise. No times, no pressure, no sweat – just some easy moves and lots of laughs. The runs are suitable for all the family where you can accomplish your personal goals; whether you are raising money for a worthwhile cause close to your heart, remembering a loved one or simply keeping active. This isn’t about Olympic level athletes charging about in record times, it’s about mums with prams, dads with toddlers, groups running together, fancy dress and a fantastic fun mix. Are you getting a picture of something a little bit different? There really is something for everyone at a Big Fun Run! Plus under 5s can take part for FREE!

  • Dog Jog

    The Dog Jog series are unique 5k jogging events for you and your dog to get fit and have fun. Each event offers a relaxed and fun atmosphere with no times and no pressure. They are also a great opportunity to meet like-minded dog owners in your area. Plus what’s more, when you cross the finish line you’ll receive a fantastic Doggy Bag jam-packed with goodies for both you and your dog, as well as Dog Jog Collar Keyring medal! Dog Jog is all about getting involved, having fun and enjoying the great outdoors with your favourite four-legged friend!
