All aboard for reflection river sailing

A very special evening river sailing will take place on the Mersey in July and families from across Liverpool, Sefton and West Lancashire are being invited along to remember their loved ones.

St. Joseph’s Hospice (Jospice) has organised the Reflections on the River sailing on Sunday 17th July, in partnership with Willowbrook Hospice, departing from Liverpool Ferry Terminal at 7pm.

During the cruise, families will take time out to remember their loved ones and will scatter rose petals in to the water to remember all the good times they shared.

Refreshments will be available on board and tickets are priced at a suggested donation of £15 for adults and £5 for children. All proceeds will go to support St. Joseph’s Hospice, which provides specialist end of life care to over 200 patients from Liverpool, Sefton and West Lancashire every year.

It is the oldest and largest Hospice on Merseyside, with a 29-bed Inpatient Unit located in a beautiful setting within 12 acres of woodland in Thornton.

Mike Parr, Chief Executive of St Joseph’s Hospice, said: “Reflections on the River is a wonderful way for families to enjoy a summers evening cruise as they reflect and remember their loved ones.

“As well as providing specialist nursing care for our patients, we also look after their emotional, spiritual and social needs. This extends to carers and family members both during a person’s illness and during bereavement and this event is an extension of that care and support.”
