Warbreck Fire Update

Here is an update re. yesterday's fire at our Warbreck charity shop...

Mike Parr, chief executive of St. Joseph’s Hospice, said: “We are devastated about the loss of our charity furniture shop in Warbreck yesterday. Mersey Fire Service has been onsite throughout the night and, thankfully, the fire has now been extinguished.

“The roof has been completely destroyed and the interior has been gutted. We are working with the landlord and fire service to make the building safe and secure before an investigation can take place.

“We have a lot of work to do, including furniture collections and deliveries that we now have no records of so please bear with us. Our furniture collection and house clearance operation has been transferred across to our Kensington furniture shop for the foreseeable future along with the usual number 0151 525 3072 which has been redirected.

“Sadly we have lost everything and we will need to ask for the support of our communities in the coming weeks to replace all the furniture donations and goods that we have lost in the fire. But, at this point, we would just like to say a huge thank you to our retail staff and volunteers, our local community and neighbours in Warbreck Moor and of course the brave and heroic firefighters from Mersey Fire Service who worked tirelessly to put out the blaze.”
