Young fundraisers support hospice

Eight generous children from Crosby have raised over £120 for the hospice by running their very own cake and sweet stall.

The youngsters, who all live in the same street, decided that they wanted to raise money for charity and, although none of them had any personal connection to the hospice, they all agreed that it was the perfect local cause to support.

The children, aged between five and 14, made cakes and set up a few games including a lolly pick and the response they received from their neighbours and the local community was incredible.

The three sets of siblings: Chloe (14), Elise (12) and Sophia (8) Crosbie; Eleanor (12), Evie (10) and Will (7) James; and Rosa (8) and Oscar (5) Millward, impressed everyone with their dedication and hard work.

Colette Millward, mum to two of the children, said: “We were all really proud of them. They did an amazing job and were all so focussed on making it a success. They even printed off thank you cards for all the neighbours afterwards. They really couldn’t have chosen a better cause than St. Joseph’s Hospice.”

Laura Smith, community fundraiser at St. Joseph’s Hospice, said: “These children are inspirational and have done an amazing job. Well done and thank you from everyone here at the hospice.”
